Vivienne's Family

The Lady Vivienne

The sister of Ygraine, Agravaine and Tristan. Long considered no more than the 'other sister' in the shadow of her mighty elder siblings.
She and Agravaine were always outshone by Ygraine and Tristan.
Vivienne was forced into an arranged marriage with Gorlois, a young knight and Uther Pendragon's best friend. With him, she had a daughter named Morgause. Due to reasons unknown, Morgause disappeared, believed dead.
Gorlois went into battle and with Ygraine failing to produce an heir for Uther, Vivienne stole a night with the King- resulting in the birth of twins, Merlin and Morgana. Uther had Merlin sent away but allowed Vivienne to keep Morgana.
One day, when Morgana was ten, Gorlois was killed in battle and Vivenne lost it- the growing grief of losing two children finally taking it's toll- she left one night and no one ever found her again.
She went to live with the druids and fell in love for the first time with a man named Cerdan. Happy for the first time in years Vivienne had one more child- a boy named Mordred.

So yeah, that's the more or less ignored mother of our four main characters! This works as a companion piece to 'The Pendragon Twins AU' I uploaded before.

Cerdan is written in red for two reasons- 1. Symbolism that he was the one man Vivienne actually loved 2. It showed up better than white on that background and I didn't like how black text looked with the whole picture.

I made Gorlois blonde and curly because Morgause is and she needs to get those traits from somewhere x
Morgause, Merlin, Morgana, Mordred, Uther and Cerdan are from Merlin BBC and (excluding Cerdan) the Arthurian legends- Emilia Fox, Colin Morgan, Katie McGrath, Asa Butterfield, Anthony Head and Alun Raglan
